Position Title: Deputy Chief Disciplinary Counsel

Definition of Work: The Office of Chief Disciplinary Counsel is the agency of the Missouri Supreme Court responsible for investigating allegations of misconduct by lawyers and prosecuting the cases where a lawyer’s misconduct poses a threat to the public or to the integrity of the legal profession. The deputy chief disciplinary counsel’s primary function is to provide day-to-day guidance to the work of the OCDC attorneys and investigators. The deputy also carries a modest caseload consisting of complex and high-profile cases and is an integral part of the management team providing oversight to the operation of the OCDC.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Law degree;
  • Current license to practice in Missouri or an ability to obtain one within six months of appointment;
  • Ten years of effective litigation practice, including meaningful experience drafting appellate briefs and presenting appellate arguments;
  • Exposure to and an understanding of the following: investigative practices, basic principles of accounting, human resource management, and facility management.
